A shop at the Brookfield shopping centre has been ram raided early on Monday morning.
Police received several calls from around 4.50am reporting that Brookfield Food Mart had been burgled, with the use of vehicles to gain entry.
Police say it is unclear whether anything was taken.
"The vehicles were later dumped and located by Police," says a Police spokesperson.
"Forensic work is underway to examine the vehicles and follow lines of inquiry to locate those involved."
A SunLive reader at the scene says that the front doors of Brookfield Food Mart are smashed in.

School holidays and the increase in ram raids. Judges ordering more wet bus tickets. Time to get hard, when they are caught put the parents in the dock with them. At 14,15 or 16 years old they must know what is right and wrong or are the schools teaching them something different.
unexpected.

These premises are close to the pharmacy and it may have been an attempt to get to the pharmacy without activating external alarms. There is nothing in this shop that would prompt such an attack. Maybe cigarettes? I hope it isn't teenagers, but if DrGolf is right, I agree there needs to be sterner penalties.
