Tauranga murder accused behind bars

The alleged offenders appeared in the High Court in Tauranga today.

Two men facing murder charges in relation to the 2018 killing of David Kuka in Tauranga will remain behind bars.

David Kuka was fatally shot at an address in Wilrose Place, Tauranga on February 11, 2018.

Two men, a 34-year-old and a 36-year-old are already in custody and before the courts, says a police spokesperson.

Yesterday, Tauranga CIB arrested two more men for Mr Kuka's murder, a 45-year-old man from Te Puke and a 54-year-old man from Rotorua.

The pair appeared before Judge Bill Lawson at the Tauranga District Court today.

The Te Puke man pleaded not guilty to one count of murder, while the Rotorua man did not enter a plea.

They have both been remanded in custody until their next appearance on October 19.
