Reports are coming in of a light aircraft crash at Tauranga Airport.
Emergency services were called to the incident just after 1.20pm.
A police spokesperson has confirmed that a light aircraft had crashed and that "the pilot is out and there are no reports of injuries".
SunLive readers have emailed in saying emergency services have gathered at the airport.
The crash is at the western end of Tauranga Airport runway in the estuary.
A reporter at the scene says people are deploying pontoons to contain any petrol spillage that may occur.
