Work is set to begin today on the next phase of the Pyes Pa walkway.
Tauranga City Council contractors have completed the first path from Cheyne Road to Condor Drive in 2022.
For the second phase of the project, Council will build a new shared path along the reserve area from SH29A to Cheyne Road.
"Work is set to begin on Monday, February 27, and we anticipate work to be wrapped up in around eight weeks," says a council spokesperson.
"While the reserve will remain open for the community to enjoy, temporary changes to the existing path will be in place to allow for safety while our construction crew are working."
The walkway is a key investment in the wider Pyes Pa community that is designed to connect people to the places they work, learn, live and play.

Really ?

The aim sounds a bit disingenuous catering for a perceived need I'm not sure really exists. Seems plenty of money for such projects where more other priorities are not met.
