21.5.1970 – 8.5.2023. Peacefully passed away at Waipuna Hospice on 8 May 2023, after Cate's 14 month battle with cancer. Much loved wife of Mike, and wonderful adored mother of Lizzy, James and Scott. Precious daughter of Margaret and Bill, much loved sister and sister-in-law of John and Sheryl Vaughan, Scott and Christine, and aunty to all her nieces and nephews. Cate was adored and loved by so many – family and friends will miss her, but we can cherish our memories we had together, RIP our heavenly angel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the wonderful, caring Waipuna Hospice who have taken wonderful care of Cate in her last days. A private cremation has been held prior, but please join in a Celebration of Cate's life at The Tauranga Yacht and Powerboat Club, 90 Keith Allen Drive, Sulphur Point, Tauranga, on Sunday 14 May at 2pm. ‘In lieu of flowers, drink a nice glass of wine with someone you love' and think what Dom Perignon said when he first tasted the stuff – ‘Come quickly! I am tasting Stars.'
