The event runs from 9am - 2.30pm, and while anyone can come, dogs must be on a lead and organisers request dog owners please pick up after their dog. Entry is by gold coin donation for humans. while dogs have free entry.
Highlights include demonstrations and performances including sheep dog trials, agility displays and conservation dogs in action.
Walk the red carpet event where pooches of all shapes and sizes can strut their stuff. Come dressed to impress or use the dress ups provided.
Fun competitions that your furry friend can participate in include waggiest tail, look-alikes, best ‘smile’, and spottiest dog.
The pet-centric market is filled with a variety of vendors offering everything from premium pet food and toys to canine accessories and innovative pet care products. Find that perfect item to pamper your beloved pets and discover new products that can enhance their well-being.
There is also a Kids' Corner with a range of educational activities and games, and plenty of food and hot drink stalls.
Engage the young ones in a range of educational activities and games designed to teach them about responsible pet ownership, empathy towards animals, and the joy of companionship. Face painting, colouring-in competitions, and interactive sessions will keep them entertained throughout the event.
Earlier this morning, the Waikato Sheep Dog Trials demonstration was held followed by a demonstration by the Tauranga & Mt Maunganui Dog Training Club.
At 11am, it's time for best look-a-like duo and Best Trickster competitions, and at 11.30am dogs will be walking the red carpet in the PD Insurance Red Carpet “Dog Walk” competition.
