A truck has broken down on State Highway 29, causing significant traffic delays.

A SunLive reader has phoned in saying there is a truck that has broken down on SH29, near the Kaimai Summit.

"It is blocking traffic coming into Tauranga.

"People should expect delays."

Meanwhile, emergency services are dealing with a serious crash on Cambridge Road in the Waikato.

"Police are responding to a two vehicle crash on Cambridge Road, near Storey Road, Rotoorangi, Waipa District," says a police spokesperson.

"The crash took place around 6:30am, and one person was transported to Waikato Hospital.

"CVST, and the Serious Crash Unit have been advised.

"The road is blocked and motorists are advised to take an alternate route."
