Athenree Road in Western Bay of Plenty, is closed following a serious crash.
Police are responding to a two-vehicle crash on Athenree Road, approximately 1km from the intersection with State Highway 2, Athenree.
"Emergency Services responded around 2.50pm," says a police spokesperson.
"One person is in a critical condition and one person is in a serious condition."
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
The road is closed and motorists are advised to take an alternate route and expect delays.
