Born 22 December 1936. Passed away peacefully 9 December 2024 at the age of 87 after battling with Alzheimers for the past 10 years. A woman who followed her dreams and aspirations making history along the way. Her appointment to president of the Waikato Trotting Club was a remarkable achievement as it was not seen as a place for women at the time. Daphne was an inspiration to many.

Much loved mother to Maree, grandmother to Sean and sister to Nelly, Carol, Jean and Dorothy, she will be sadly missed.

Heart felt thanks to all her carers over this time, the staff at Bethlehem Views with whom she spent her last 6 years and for every kindness anyone showed toward my mother while she was ill.
A service to celebrate Daphne's life will be held at 2pm, Saturday 14 December at Pyes Pa Memorial Park Chapel, 403 Pyes Pa Road, Tauranga.
