The popular Upcycled Christmas Tree Competition is back this year with entries destined for display in Santa’s Grotto at The Arts Junction in Katikati.
Everyone in the community is invited to enter and entries in the past have come from individuals, families, businesses, clubs, and schools.
“Start getting creative now because the festive season will be here before you know it,” said Kylie Watkins, Katch Katikati events manager, organisers of the event.
Trees can be delivered to The Arts Junction, Katikati between Monday, December 2, and Friday, December 6.
For full entry details email info@katchkatikati.org.nz.
All trees will be judged on originality, creativity and use of recycled materials with the best tree winning a cash prize of $150. The community is also invited to vote for their favourite tree with the most popular trees with the most votes are in to win three cash prizes of up to $150.
Competition entries will be on display at a special opening of Santa’s Grotto on Friday, December 13, from 5pm-7pm at The Arts Junction, where the community is invited to explore the works of art, crafted from recycled materials by our talented community members and vote for their favourite tree.
The family-friendly event promises entertainment, spot prizes and a guest appearance by Santa and a chance to explore the magical Santa Grotto wonderland.
The upcycled trees will remain on display in Santa’s Grotto until 2pm on Saturday, December 28.
The competition is part of the Katikati Christmas Series including Christmas in the Park and Santa’s Grotto brought to the community by Katch Katikati with support from the Tauranga Western Bay Community Event Fund.
